Government Rebates

Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) Program

The VEU Program is a government initiative to assist residents and businesses in Victoria in reducing energy consumption and contribute positively to the environment. Rebates and incentives are offered under the program for the adoption of energy-efficient and sustainable products.

The program is regulated by the Essential Services Commission. When you make your home or business more energy-efficient through the VEU program, accredited professionals create Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs). Each certificate represents the equivalent of one tonne of greenhouse gas emissions that have been prevented from entering the atmosphere.

New South Wales Energy Savings Scheme (NSW ESS)

Under this scheme, businesses and households in NSW have the opportunity to reduce energy consumption and generate Energy Savings Certificates (ESCs) when they adopt energy-efficient products. Electricity retailers and large users generate or acquire ESCs for approved activities, ensuring compliance with the energy savings target set by the Government under the scheme.

By the end of 2022, the program had successfully reduced GHG emissions by 23 megatonnes and supported projects anticipated to yield 48000 GWh of energy savings by 2033.

Queensland Business Energy Savings and Transformation (QBEST) rebates

The QBEST scheme provides generous financial incentives for small and medium-sized businesses in Queensland to invest in sustainable and energy-efficient equipment. By upgrading, businesses can significantly reduce energy consumption, lower electricity expenses and contribute to the Government’s carbon reduction objectives.

Eligible businesses receive a rebate of up to 50% on the purchase and installation costs of these products, thereby enhancing sustainability while promoting financial savings.
