Do LED lights use a lot of electricity?
LEDs are highly energy-efficient and use at least 75% less energy and last up to 25 times longer than incandescent lighting. An incandescent bulb requires 60 watts to produce 800 lumens of electricity, however LED only requires 6.5 watts.
LEDs are made to run constantly for a long time without overheating or causing any safety risks. They emit a soft and calming glow, and may be left on all night without causing safety risks.
Depending on the quality of the fixture, commercial LEDs have a lifespan of 30000-50000 hours or longer. Their longer operational life reduces the frequency of replacement, bringing down maintenance costs.
All LED lights have a warranty of one year during normal usage, and replacements will be provided for any defects that arise during the warranty period.
The Australian Government offers incentives and rebates for businesses to make the switch towards sustainable LED lights. Earthase offers high quality products backed by Victorian Energy Upgrade (VEU) rebate and NSW- Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) to upgrade to LED lights.
